I drove myself to amass material idols such as boats, real estate property, new cars, etc.  I fooled myself with the delusion that I was giving my family a lifestyle that projected affluence, abundance, fun, and importance.  After I lost everything, including many relationships, all these material gains left me broken-hearted in distress with only a small measure of faith and hope.  During the past 30 years, I have harvested insightful knowledge pertaining to alcoholism, ADD, addictions, divorce, depression, human behavior, faith, prayer, hope and love.  Through other's encouragement and support, I forgive 'what is behind and strain toward what is ahead; I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.'

Dawn Lanier is a co-founder and principal with Higher Ground Associates, a human resource, coaching and organizational development consulting firm.    Dawn is certified as a Coach through the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches (WABC).  She is also certified in the use of DISC, a behavior analysis tool.  Dawn is a Stephen Minister and Career Crossroads speaker and volunteer at Snellville United Methodist Church.

Early in her career, she was a faculty member of York College of Pennsylvania in the Behavioral Science Department where she taught psychology and statistics.  She was an educator in PinnacleHealth WomanCare Resource Center, where she was responsible for designing and presenting workshops on such topics as spirituality, stress management, dealing with difficult people, self-confidence, self-esteem, emotional mastery, career development and many others.

Georgia's educational background includes a B.A. from Penn State and a M.Ed. (Guidance Counselor) from West Chester University.  She has two years Spiritual Direction training from Oasis Ministries and is a graduate and life member of Coach U, a coach training institute.  She can administer and interpret the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest and Skills Confidence Inventory.

Jaime Simpson, Coach U Graduate,  is passionate about seeing young people be all they can be, to dream big and accomplish great things. Jaime’s desire is to help young people build a strong personal foundation so they are confident, assertive, value driven and not swayed by the crowd.

Jaime originally started her journey of working with teens when she herself was in high school, volunteering as a local youth leader and working with younger teens, here she realized that young people required support and courage to transition into young adult life.   With this passion and a career in human resources and training, Jaime decide to take on extra study with CoachU to develop her coaching skills and change careers to become a life coach.

Transitioning into teenager’s years can be quite a stressful time both for the teenager and the families living with them! It seems your friendly loveable child, brother or sister overnight changes into a complex rebellious alien.  The way you once communicated with them whilst a child is no longer effective. It’s through the transition to teenage years that young people are physically and emotionally going through rapid change, they are starting to form their own values, discover their own identities and finding their own purpose in this world.   It’s during this time that their foundations for growing into a mature adult are being built.   This foundation will form their identities, their values and their esteem.

After taking a one-day class on coaching as a career, I realized that I had been coaching friends for years and never knew that people actually did this for a living. Since then I have completed the Foundation Coach coursework through the International Coach Academy and have been coaching five unemployed clients, two of whom found jobs during our first six weeks together.

Having moved eight times in 28 years of marriage, I believe I am especially qualified to coach people through relocation issues, particularly when a spouse makes a relocation for the other spouse's job. I've also worked for several Christian ministries in various editorial functions.

My husband Jim and I have two children ages 20 and 17 and live outside of Denver, Colorado, where I'm a member of the Denver Coach Federation.

I have a business and government background, and am employed full-time in federal government service.  I have had many twists and turns in my career, starting out as a lawyer for a presidential campaign, moving to the private and non-profit sector, and then to government service.  Along the way, I switched political parties, survived cancer, and joined the Episcopal church.  I travel frequently to Europe and I am now planning a trip to Turkey.

I am currently in coach training with the Coachville School of Coaching.  I have taken special coach training courses in the Purpose Driven Life, as well as in the Dream Giver Coach program.  In addition to formal coach training, I have studied the Enneagram and participated in Enneagram training with Russ Hudson.

As a Christian, I believe that with God, all things are possible.  I have been particularly influenced by the writings of Florence Scovel Shinn, author of "The Game of Life".  Mrs. Shinn always said that nothing but fear and doubt stand between you and your ideals and desires.  While she wrote for audiences in the early part of the twentieth century, the principles she taught are timeless.  If you choose to work with me, we will explore how these "attraction principles" will lead you to the abundant and purposeful life that God has designed for you.
